<p>HEPSA brought +OneX on board to develop reports and manage its implementation of Microsoft&rsquo;s Power BI. +OneX proposed a managed services arrangement that would not only support HEPSA with the initial reports the business requested but also continuous report development, maintenance, support and optimisation of its Power BI environment. Through +OneX Power BI Managed Services, HEPSA has access to a team of BI developers with vast experience from multiple other client projects to manage and maintain the Power BI environment, relieving it of the need to attract and retain scarce, expensive skills.</p>
<p>+OneX works closely with HEPSA to continually analyse its data, build out visualisations and glean insights from the data for the benefit of key stakeholders. Microsoft is investing heavily in its Power BI Service which is rapidly growing with changes introduced every month. The +OneX Power BI Managed Services team also keeps HEPSA up to date with advice on the new features of the Power BI environment, as well as providing insights into how it could drive more value from its investment in business intelligence.</p>

<p>Our Unify, Microsoft, and AudioCodes engineers collaborated to create a solution that would leverage Exxaro&rsquo;s existing infrastructure, including a central SIP trunk for the PSTN at the Teraco Data Centre as well as an Atos Unify OpenScape 4000 PBX system. The OpenScape 4000 solution allows legacy and IP comms to reside side-by-side in the same enterprise on the same platform. At Exxaro, it also provides attendant and interactive voice response (IVR) services for the users at head office.</p>
<p>Our team implemented an AudioCodes Cloud Connector Edition appliance at each of the five Exxaro sites. Each of these appliances consists of four virtual machines running on a Windows server host, as well as a session border controller. The appliances provide connectivity between Office 365 and on-premise PSTN infrastructure to facilitate external calling for Microsoft users. This approach allowed Exxaro to keep using its legacy solution where necessary.</p>

<p>When Exxaro moved its headquarters to a new, state-of-the art building in Centurion, it decided to seize the opportunity to transition to a modern, cloud-based unified communications and collaboration platform. The company asked +OneX Communications, its long-time telephony solutions provider, to help it migrate head office and key sites across South Africa to Microsoft Teams.</p>
<p>Exxaro wanted a solution that would allow its cloud users at all sites &mdash; including mines in Mpumalanga and Limpopo &mdash; to make and receive calls using its existing public switched telephone networks (PSTN) service. It also needed a platform that would allow it to gradually transition users to Microsoft Teams.</p>

<p>The Atos Unify OpenScape 4000 solution enabled the client to bridge the gap from legacy telephony to IP-based unified communications. Legacy and IP comms can reside side-by-side in the same enterprise on the same platform. This enabled the department to cut over to a modern unified communications solution in a seamless, orderly fashion with no changes to billing for telephony services.</p>
<p>With the new platform in place, the government department has consolidated its voice and data LAN onto a single Cat 6 UTP network. This enables it to reduce the costs of maintaining and managing infrastructure. It has also deployed Wi-Fi access points to give end-users more flexibility and reduce the need for physical cables. Teams at the government department can collaborate and communicate with each other seamlessly and securely across a common platform, wherever they have access to the internet.</p>

<p>The government department is a longstanding user of the Atos Unify PABX platform. We proposed a solution featuring the Atos Unify OpenScape 4000 Hybrid TDM/IP-PBX for Enterprise Voice as a natural upgrade path. Our Unify certified engineers implemented an OpenScape 4000 Duplex System including four satellite sites and a Deployment Service (DLS) for the government department.</p>
<p>We also worked with the government department to upgrade cabinets to accommodate modern power over ethernet (PoE) switches, deploy Wi-Fi access points throughout the building, and replace old cabling with Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair (Cat 6 UTP) cables. We installed and configured the infrastructure, including setting up separate virtual local area networks (LANs) for voice and data.</p>
